Hello! I am a biologist with a Master's degree in marine science. During my education, I spent several years tutoring peers on statistics, genomics, organic chemistry, physics and zoology. My style of teaching focuses on understanding structural concepts to solve not just the current issues students are struggling with, but provide deeper understanding that will help in the future. I am open to working with all students, but find I am most helpful to curious students who ask questions.

I have over 30 years of experience in teaching chemistry, especially as related to the medical field. This includes biochemistry, toxicology, pharmacology as well as organic and inorganic chemistry for high school and university students. Along with chemistry and other sciences, I've had great success in coaching students for SAT, ACT, MCAT, and GRE.

I am a physics and mathematics tutor with over 1,100 hours of tutoring experience helping students succeed in courses ranging from Calculus IβIII, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra to Physics I & II and Quantum Mechanics. My teaching method centers around problem-solving rather than memorization. While mastering course content is important, I believe the most valuable skill learned from physics and mathematics courses is the ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts.
"Ian is a really great teacher. He asks questions to figure out where your understanding level is then builds on that. If I got confused he would back up and explain it a different way. He also has a really good attitude even when I got frustrated.
