Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson focuses on understanding the student’s goals and building a strong foundation. We begin with a light warm-up and basic movement drills to get comfortable. I then introduce the boxing stance, balance, and proper footwork. Students will learn the fundamental punches such as the jab and cross while working on coordination through light pad work. The goal of the first session is to build confidence, teach proper form, and make sure the student leaves understanding the basics of boxing.
Lesson 2-3During the second and third lessons, we begin reinforcing the fundamentals learned in the first session while introducing additional punches such as hooks and uppercuts. Students start learning simple punch combinations and basic defensive movements like slipping and blocking. Pad work becomes more active and we introduce boxing conditioning drills to build endurance. By this stage, students start feeling more comfortable with movement, rhythm, and basic combinations.
Lesson 4-10From lessons four through ten, training becomes more structured and skill-focused. Students work on combination punching, improved footwork, and defensive techniques such as slips, rolls, and counters. Conditioning becomes more intense and we incorporate drills that improve speed, timing, and coordination. Pad work becomes more dynamic and students begin understanding strategy and rhythm. At this stage, students typically see noticeable improvement in their technique, stamina, and confidence.
Lesson 11+After the first ten sessions, training becomes more personalized depending on the student’s goals. For fitness clients, sessions focus on high-level boxing workouts, conditioning, and skill refinement. For students interested in boxing seriously, training includes advanced combinations, defensive strategy, reaction drills, and higher intensity pad work. The focus is on continuing to sharpen technique, build endurance, and develop a deeper understanding of boxing fundamentals.
