Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson is based on individual. We will confirm proper grip on paddle, talk court positioning, understanding the basic rules, proper ready stance, paddle taping, and forehand/backhand strokes. We will have some partner rallying and target hitting
Lesson 2-3We will focus on consistent legal serves. We will go over serving technique, styles including bounce and proper underhand technique. We will serve to targets. We will also practice returning serves and discuss proper positioning of returns based on the type of server. Shadow swings will be used to fine tune technique. At the end we will do some serve only mini games.
Lesson 4-10Confidence at the net and kitchen rules. Soft hand volley warmups. Forehand backhand volleys. Blocking and swinging. Volley exchanges eduction, catching in air vs letting it bounce. End with net only games at pickleball line. Transitions education. Dink technique, step drill and we progress from there per individual.
Lesson 11+Transition challenge games, ball machine repetition work, 7-11, and many more other exciting games to practice and perfect technique. Talk game strategy to master others weaknesses. Basic to advanced strategies depending on individual.
