Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor complete beginners, I keep the first lesson simple and enjoyable. I start by introducing the table, equipment, and basic rules. Then I teach the correct stance, bridge, grip, and cue alignment. We focus on making straight shots to build confidence before moving on to cue ball control and simple positioning. My goal is to help students develop good fundamentals and enjoy the game from the very first lesson.
Lesson 2-3In the second lesson, we build on the fundamentals from Lesson 1. We focus on improving cue ball control, shot accuracy, and consistent stroke mechanics. Students learn basic aiming techniques, speed control, and simple position play to set up their next shot. I also introduce easy practice drills and provide personalized feedback to help correct habits early and build confidence.
Lesson 4-10By the third lesson, students begin applying their skills in real game situations. We focus on shot selection, planning ahead, and improving position play. I introduce basic safety shots, common game strategies, and techniques for handling different shot angles. We also play practice games so students can build confidence, improve decision-making, and learn how to think strategically while enjoying the game.
Lesson 11+In the fourth lesson, we focus on improving consistency and developing a stronger understanding of the game. Students learn more advanced cue ball control, combination shots, and how to create better opportunities during a match. We work on break building, defensive strategies, and reading the table more effectively. I also introduce more challenging practice drills to help students become more confident, accurate, and comfortable playing independently.
