Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIntroduction and getting comfortable with the racket and ball, learning the basics of tennis, proper racket grip, and an introduction to forehand and backhand strokes.
Lesson 2-3Learning the ready position, while continuing to develop forehand and backhand technique through drills and rally practice.
Lesson 4-10Introducing court movement and footwork drills while continuing to improve forehand and backhand technique. Students will also begin learning the serve, different tennis grips, and volleys, along with understanding the importance of volleys in tennis.
Lesson 11+Introducing slice and smash shots, learning the rules of match play and scorekeeping, increasing coordination and reaction drills, combination exercises, and training focused on improving return shots.
