Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe’ll start by getting to know your goals and experience level. You’ll learn how to hold the racquet, proper ready position, forehand and backhand fundamentals, and how to make consistent contact with the ball. The lesson is fun, low-pressure, and focused on building confidence while rallying as quickly as possible.
Lesson 2-3We’ll reinforce your fundamentals while introducing movement, footwork, and consistency. You’ll learn how to rally from the baseline, improve control and accuracy, and begin serving with proper technique. By the end of these lessons, you’ll feel much more comfortable keeping the ball in play.
Lesson 4-10As your consistency improves, we’ll introduce topspin, directional control, volleys, overheads, serves, returns, and basic point construction. We’ll also work on court positioning, recovery, and movement patterns while incorporating fun drills and point play to apply everything you’ve learned.
Lesson 11+Training becomes personalized to your goals. Whether you want to play recreationally, compete in leagues or tournaments, improve fitness, or simply become a more confident player, each lesson will focus on refining technique, developing strategy, and continuing to build consistency through match play and customized drills.
What you need to bringPlease bring comfortable athletic clothing, tennis shoes, a water bottle, and your racquet if you have one. If you don’t own a racquet yet, let me know ahead of time and I can provide one for your lesson. Come ready to learn, have fun, and improve!
