I’m a former math teacher and former tech exec turned pickleball enthusiast. Over the last couple of years, I’ve invested a massive amount of time studying the sport and breaking it down into its foundational pieces in order to teach myself how to excel at the game. In that time, I’ve gone from an absolute beginner to an advanced level player - I play at the 4.5+ level, I’ve won multiple medals in tournaments, and I’ve earned a Professional Coach certificate through PPR. In addition to independent coaching, I am also the lead pickleball coach at Bay Club Redwood Shores & Broadway. I am truly energized by teaching others everything I've learned about this sport. As a former math teacher and Harvard alum, I take an academic approach to coaching: lessons are planned in advance, skills are broken down into steps, there are opportunities to practice and make mistakes, and I provide written notes and videos post-lesson to solidify your learning. As a former tech leader, my coaching involves giving direct and timely feedback, relying on first principles to guide lessons, and adapting quickly to optimize your learning. With 35 years on the pitch, I'm dedicated to helping players of all levels elevate their game. I am also a seasoned middle school, high school, and junior college coach. Also, I am a Prep Soccer National Scout and ID Soccer Camp Director. As a soccer scout, I provide coverage and make player evaluations at the high school and club levels. I've completed over 500 evaluations and evaluated players on the U.S. Youth National teams as well as top youth players in the nation. Helping players get to the collegiate level is one of my main goals. My passion for soccer translates into tailored coaching, fostering skill development and a lifelong love for the sport. At the age of 9, I discovered basketball and became obsessed with it. “Basketball is life” was my motto growing up—from finishing team practices at the gym, then going straight to a local basketball court for pickup games. I considered basketball courts my second home, and in many ways, they still are. My playing journey took me through several years in AAU leagues, starting with the Bay Area Asian Sports Dragons as a youth. As a four-year varsity player, I earned MVP and MIP awards in middle school and high school, and was honored to make the PAL NorCal All-League First and Second Teams during my later years. These experiences taught me that individual recognition means nothing without the team and community that supports you. I am an advocate for fostering community and connections through sports, and I truly believe that sports bring out the best in people. Having walked the path from beginner to competitive player, I want to be a guiding light for those just starting out or looking to elevate their development. I've been in the water since I was very young. I started as a Junior Lifeguard then was seasonal Lifeguard in Newport Beach, CA. I've surfed all over the world. I've pursued big swells in Indonesia as well as mainland Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Iceland.

I’ve been golfing for over 30 years and as I grew older I’ve learned to maximize what I have. I’m 5’6” and though I consider myself an athlete, I do believe a good swing can be achieved by good fundamentals and what I call positioning. By ingraining certain aspects of a swing, we can continue to improve by doing. I’m just a low-handicap golfer who want to teach average golfers good fundamentals as a takeaway, so you can start to improve on your own. I’m not a teaching professional, but I was a design instructor at an art school for over 17 years, I hope I can make improving your golf game fun.
