I have been a baseball coach for a men's amateur league for 25 years, and have worked with youth/little league & high school players 1-on-1. In addition to baseball fundamentals, I coach pitchers in developing proper mechanics to avoid injury, sports and overall athletic performance. Additionally, I am a master fitness trainer with 15+ years of experience, utilizing my strength & conditioning techniques to transfer directly to baseball and other team sports.

Tennis is one of my greatest joys - I am passionate about introducing the sport to new communities, fostering junior development and supporting adult learners discover and hone their game.

Hey my name's Derek Schmidt and I'm a musician, sound designer, and music educator living in SF. I have a Masters in Music Composition and decades of performing experience.I've played piano for over three decades, for performance, production, and composition. I come at piano from an composer/songwriter perspective, so I can ground the lessons in music theory to help it all make sense, no matter what instrument you decide to play. I best teach beginning and intermediate students who want to explore different musical styles.

As a player, he spent two years competing in college after three standout years on his high school varsity team, where he helped capture a state championship and two league titles. His coaching career includes 25 years of high school varsity and JV football, as well as five years in Pop Warner. Currently, Russ brings his leadership and passion for the game to coaching high school boys flag football, where he continues to mentor and inspire student-athletes.

I have played in local tournaments and played golf competitively for several years. I have lots of patience, I'm laid back, and I really enjoy teaching. I work with all ages and skill levels. Scratch player. Played varsity high school while ranking as a top 100 junior golfer in California. As an adult, won some city championships as well. Most importantly, golf has been a great way to have fun and meet people and keep friends on the course. Whether you’re trying to go competitive or just play well enough to keep up with your colleagues, we can get you to that level. Golf is hard, but with a simple understanding of the swing and the golf club, you can learn to play decent golf.

I’m an RYT-500 Yoga Alliance-certified teacher with 16+ years of practice, trained at Barefoot Yoga (200-hour) and with Mark Stephens (300-hour). I’ve taught at UC Berkeley, Outdoor Yoga Berkeley, studios, retreats, corporate settings, and community organizations. Rooted in the Yoga Sutra, my classes - vinyasa, restorative, or yin - invite mindfulness, body awareness, and compassionate self-inquiry, offering yoga as both movement and a way of living with greater presence.

I have experience teaching high school and college mathematics, as well as CAD and programming. My teaching style is hands-on and practical, focusing on clear explanations and real-world applications. I’ve worked with students ranging from beginners to advanced learners, including engineering and design students, and I adapt my approach to match each student’s level and goals.

I currently tutor Mathematics, Finance, Accounting and Python at San Francisco State University's Tutoring & Academic Support Center, where I focus on undergraduate tutoring.
