Hi, My name is Kate. With over 25 years of experience, I have traveled and competed in professional tournaments all over the world. Throughout my career, I achieved a USTA National Ranking of #6, reached quarterfinal of the KPSF Open, earned an ITF ranking of 170, and a WTA ranking of 490. A full scholarship to the NCAA Division 1 university allowed me to continue my competitive career, where I achieved an ITA singles ranking of #18 in the nation and was honored as an Athlete of the Year.

I’m a passionate and dedicated soccer coach with14 years as a soccer player and over 9 years of experience working with players of all levels—from youth teams to first-team squads. I hold a Second Degree in Soccer Coaching from the Tunisian University of Sport and Physical Education, and I’ve spent nearly a decade turning my love for the game into a mission: helping players develop, grow, and reach their full potential. Whether it’s team training or one-on-one coaching, I focus on creating a fun, dynamic, and supportive environment where players not only improve their skills but also truly enjoy the process. I love sharing my experience, guiding players to master the game, and helping them take real steps toward becoming professionals. I am an educator specializing in grades 6-8 mathematics, with experience teaching both math and English across multiple grade levels. I foster an inclusive, student-centered classroom where collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world connections drive learning. I work with diverse learners, including English Learners and students with IEPs, using differentiated instruction to help every student build confidence and achieve long-term academic success.

I am biochemistry student at UC Davis who just recently transferred from Chabot College in Hayward, CA. At Chabot College I was a tutor for the Chemistry Club for 2 years and helped in both Biology and Chemistry Courses. Being apart of the Chemistry Club we often did outreach program to primary schools in the surrounding area to also get younger students into the sciences.

I’ve been coaching since 2016 at Nike Tennis Camp (Stanford). Worked Cardinal tennis since 2016 where I ran clinic. In 2024, I started coaching private lessons in Menlo Park area. I mainly work with red ball, orange ball, yellow ball (beginner and intermediate level). I have players who are playing in tournaments, so I coach them and take them to tourney’s too.

I am an ordained Zen priest. I came to San Francisco from England in 2000, and spent fifteen years in residential zen training, including five years of monastic practice at Tassajara. I have been teaching formally for fifteen years, and guiding meditation for more than twenty. I love the formal rituals of Zen, but am also interested in reaching people who will never set foot in a Zen temple. These days I lead meditations in a variety of settings, and lead mindful hikes all over the city.

Derek is an experienced musician and sound designer with many years of music education experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Music and brings a strong academic and practical background to his teaching.
