I grew up learning the game of basketball on the playgrounds of New York City and Philadelphia where creativity, toughness, and resiliency mattered as much as skill. Today, I teach players how to blend imagination with strong fundamentals-shooting, ball handling, and passing as well as how to think about playing man to man defense. My coaching style is calm, clear, and structured. I can work with kids just starting out on their basketball journey or are trying out for your school team.

Having nurtured a lifelong passion for the violin, I began lessons at age 6 and have spent the past 35 years exploring what it means to be a musician and violinist. I started teaching lessons straight out of college and have spent that time sharing my love for music with students of all ages and skill levels. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a creative and encouraging environment where students can explore their musicality and reach their full potential. I enjoy tailoring fun lesson plans that adapt to each student’s talents and needs. Making music fun makes it personal and lasting and fosters a connection with music that is encouraged in all ages. Nothing reaches across all language barriers and can connect humankind like music. It is a gift I enjoy teaching and sharing.

I’m Sofiane Djeffal, a former collegiate and current professional soccer player for New Mexico United whose career was shaped by high-level competition and demanding training environments. Having performed at both levels, I bring firsthand experience of what it takes to progress, perform, and stand out on the field.
