Alexander Tyfer is a violin educator, performer, and creator of the Tyfer Method, an original approach based on awareness and control of movement. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, he helps students develop efficient technique and artistic confidence. He is also the author of the forthcoming pedagogical monograph A Sensible System of Violin Playing: Awareness and Control in Violin Technique, which presents his research on violin pedagogy and technical development.

Coach John Pettaway – Basketball Coach | Culture Builder | Player Developer With over two decades of coaching and leadership experience, John Pettaway is a passionate and proven basketball coach committed to developing players on and off the court. Known for his no-nonsense yet nurturing approach, Coach Pettaway combines deep basketball IQ with a strong focus on character, discipline, and culture. Currently serving as Head Coach of the Lawrence Woodmere Academy Post-Grad Program and Associate Head Coach for the PSA Cardinals 8th and 9th Grade Teams, Coach Pettaway has mentored and trained athletes who’ve gone on to succeed at the Division I, Division II, and JUCO levels. His coaching philosophy centers around hard work, accountability, and team alignment—values that translate beyond basketball into life success. Coach Pettaway is also the founder of Beyond the Bench & Board, a school culture consulting company that partners with schools to support deans, teachers, and school leaders in building systems that promote high expectations and strong relationships. From the Nike EYBL circuit to the classroom, Coach Pettaway brings a rare blend of strategic insight, cultural leadership, and a relentless drive to see young people win. For two decades, I've cultivated a deep understanding of lacrosse, and I'm eager to share my insights. I grew up on Long Island so lacrosse has always been a part of my life. My playing career began when I was 6 years old, playing up with my older brother. I attended St. Anthony’s High School while playing for LI Express in the summer. For those years I was around some of the best coaches in the lacrosse world and gained invaluable information from them about lacrosse. After St. Anthony’s I attended St. John’s University as a member of the lacrosse team. I was lucky enough to play all four years there, playing attack, offensive midfield and defensive midfield. Upon graduation I decided to be a college assistant coach at Misericordia University where I was in charge of the defense, and helped lead our team to a conference title. Lacrosse will always be my passion, I enjoy all facets of the game and enjoy giving back to players with all the information I have gained of the game. I focus on helping athletes elevate their game through strategic development and personalized instruction. My goal is to instill confidence and a love for the sport.

Kayla has been playing pickleball for 3 years and has competed in tournaments across the nation. Currently holding a 4.5 DUPR, she continues to improve her game while gaining valuable experience. In the last 6 months, Kayla began coaching and is now IPTPA certified, eager to share her expertise and passion for the sport with players of all levels.

Hi! I am a rising junior on the Cornell Women’s Tennis team. My dad is a great tennis coach and I’ve been learning skills from him and giving hitting lessons from a very young age! I can coach, hit, or just rally!

I earned my Hatha 200 hr. and Children’s 95 hr. Yoga Teacher Training certificates in 2020. Since then I have taught babies, families, children, teens and adults.
