Born and raised in Queens, New York, Rockaway Beach is my home break. I’ve surfed all over the world—from Hawaii to Indonesia, Puerto Rico to Peru, as well as California and Japan. I’m passionate about teaching and giving people the opportunity to learn this amazing sport while connecting with nature and the waves.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and am a former Division 2 Track and Field All-American. My expertise lies in speed and jump training, and I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes at various levels, from high school to collegiate, as well as adults. With a background in football, basketball, and track and field, I understand the importance of tailored training to maximize performance. Currently a Physical Education teacher at Southport School, I bring patience, encouragement, and fun to every session. My specialties include basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and golf, but I’m open to coaching kids in any sport they’re eager to learn. As soon as possible, I embarked on surf safaris, exploring breaks from the Caribbean to California and Central America, Oregon to Oahu, and beyond. With over 45 years of experience, surfing has become more than a passion—it's a way of life. Now, as an instructor, I find immense joy in helping others catch their first wave, sharing in the exhilaration that becomes a lifelong memory.
