I am a former collegiate athlete at Gonzaga University where I spent 4 years playing and earning a degree in Psychology. After which I went on to play professionally at Forward Madison, then later at two clubs in Australias second tier before most recently playing in Spain. After college I spent lots of time coaching kids of all ages at schools, camps, and 1 on 1 training. My style of coaching ranges to intense in depth player development to reach the highest level to young school kids.

I'm a dedicated drumset instructor currently studying Jazz Studies and Drumset Performance. As a snare drummer in the UW Marching Band Drumline, I bring both high-level musical training and real ensemble experience to every lesson. I help students build strong technique, musicality, and confidence through clear instruction and personalized practice strategies. Dr. Trace Johnson (pronounced "TRAY-se"), (DMA, University of Wisconsin-Madison), is a cello teacher in Madison, Wisconsin. Trace's extensive background in music education combined with his professional experiences working as a classical and non-classical cello soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician allows him to bring an accessible and practical approach to learning to play the cello to his students. Trace performs extensively across the state of Wisconsin in a variety of settings.

For the past 15 years, I've honed my skills playing basketball, fostering both skill and sportsmanship. My passion lies in helping players unlock their potential, ensuring every session is both challenging and rewarding. Let's elevate your game!

I played soccer for 20 years. We were state champions my senior year of high school, and I went on to play D3 soccer at Bethel University. I focus on developing discipline, confidence, fundamentals, and tenacity. I also staffed and ran a youth program in Madison for 8 years.

"Cora has made a HUGE impact on my game. She held me to a high standard, which lead to some practices being tough, but she always encouraged me and supported me to finish strong. Cora had a remarkable ability to see potential in me which I couldn’t yet see in myself. With her tough yet fair coaching, I began to see a bit of what she saw. Within just a year she has made me a player that I wouldn’t have recognized. I have had many coaches, but Cora will always stick out to me among them. That’s not only because she made me a significantly better player, but because she also focused on the mental aspect of the game. She always took time, whether it was 5 minutes or 25, to talk about the mental game and how I was doing on that perspective of the game. In prior years of playing, I would constantly get in my head and visibly lacked confidence. No other coach seemed to realize, or care. But once I met Cora, she noticed all of that and she helped me learn more about the mental aspect of the game, and how to improve it. Throughout our practices, she instilled confidence in me that extended beyond the court. Cora is definitely the best coach I have ever had, and that anyone will ever have.

I love playing music, and I love playing music with other people. My goal is to continuously inspire my students, because if you love playing, practicing will never be a chore! My teaching pedagogy is generally a dual approach: it is important to work on the fun things that students want to learn, and it is equally important to spend a little time practicing technical exercises, note reading, and musicianship. I am excited to share my love of music with you, and I look forward to meeting!
