My name is Roberto. I was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica, and I came to the United States nine years ago to play college tennis. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University (nation's top 10 NCAA Division II school) with a B.A. in Business Management and served as the team's captain on my last semester. I have also coached beginner and intermediate tennis players of all ages in Costa Rica as well as several collegiate dual matches. Regarding my playing history, I have played tournaments in over 10 countries, obtained a junior international ranking, and reached a ranking of #8 in Costa Rica. This exercise, along with the drills, helps me better understand the concepts that we learned today. If there is one improvement I have to state, it’s that the drop shot adjustments could be introduced better. Give them awareness that the balls can come at different height/different speeds first and then show them the techniques to handle such cases.
